The Medal

edit

The medal belongs to a different Carlo Visconti, not the obscure bishop. --Vicedomino (talk) 05:51, 25 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

– Following discussion at Talk:John O'Connor#Requested move of John Joseph O'Connor articles, it seems like "(cardinal)" is the favoured disambiguator, rather then Archbishop of New York etc. I have made a list of all cardinals (based on Category:Roman Catholic cardinals), which have a disambiguator, at User:Amakuru/Cardinals, and the vast majority already have a "(cardinal)" disambiguator, so this RM is to bring WP:CONSISTENCY in that category. Note that WP:BISHOP does not explicitly allow or disallow "cardinal" as a disambiguator, and if this RM is successful, we should probably add the convention to the rules there.  — Amakuru (talk) 18:35, 6 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

I'd strike support for the ambiguous names mentioned by Necrothesp below. Roger (archbishop of Benevento), Charles of Lorraine (bishop of Metz and Strasbourg) and Romuald I (archbishop of Salerno) should stay put per incomplete disambiguation, with the "(cardinal)" forms redirecting to the dab page.--Cúchullain t/c 16:54, 8 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
