Catherine Mary WinslowCatherine Mary Reignolds – All of the scholarly literature is titled after her maiden name, Catherine Mary Reignolds, which was the name she was widely known by publicly. She never performed under her married name of Winslow, and only performed under the name of Catherine Mary Reignolds. We should follow the scholarly literature on this actress and use her stage/maiden name. 4meter4 (talk) 15:15, 26 November 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. —usernamekiran (talk) 17:10, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

@ Ficaia Correct and incorrect. Both of those sources (one of which is a primary source that lacks independence) title her name Catherine Mary Reignolds-Winslow with a hyphenated last name. No sources title it without the Reignolds being included; and the best independent sources by recent scholars (such as her entry in the American National Biography) all omit Winslow entirely in their titling practices. I would be willing to go with this hyphenated name as a compromise, but strongly oppose the current title which does not reflect the sources and is essentially WP:OR. As the subject's own writings in your one example were published under the hyphenated name, it's pretty clear she herself did not drop her maiden name. We shouldn't impose original naming conventions onto subjects. That's a misrepresentation of the person and makes it difficult for readers to find the article, as they aren't likely to use this name in searching for the subject. 4meter4 (talk) 03:07, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@ 4meter4 I would support the hyphenated name. It seems to be how she wanted to be known as she wrote a book under that name. 𝕱𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖆 (talk) 07:04, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@PamD I agree that Kate Reignolds is probably the best choice per WP:COMMONNAME. Catherine Mary Reignolds-Winslow might be the most suitable choice for building a consensus. I would support either of these options.4meter4 (talk) 00:48, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Relisting comment: relisting for a clearer consensus. —usernamekiran (talk) 17:10, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
