Domesticated varieties? Pictures?

edit

Cats, by definition, are domesticated animals. There are no truly wild cats, only feral cats that belong to the same set of varieties as domestic cats. So this should really be labeled "Cat Breeds". And why does a summary of cat breeds belong here and not in the main article? Also, pictures should illustrate the subject of the article, which simple portraits of cats do not. Removing section on cat breeds and types

edit

I propose this be removed since it has nothing to do with "Human interaction with cats." I don't understand why this is here when there is an article for cat breeds. Any comments before I take it out? Rissa, Guild of Copy Editors (talk) 04:28, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Unused source

edit

The following source formerly appeared in the article and might be usable for something:

  • Vitale, Kristyn R.; Behnke, Alexandra C.; Udell, Monique A.R. (2019). "Attachment bonds between domestic cats and humans". Current Biology. 29 (18): R864–R865. doi:10.1016/j.cub.2019.08.036. PMID 31550468.

This was falsely cited as the source for the claim that cats are commensal or mutualistic with humans (something that article does not address even in passing). In reality, it says that cat social cognition is under-studied, and that cats display three different attachment styles in relation to human care-givers; that might actually be useful information in our article.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  07:42, 18 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
