Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad-Grinnell Passenger StationUnion Depot (Grinnell, Iowa) – Per WP:USSTATION; common name for this building. The current title is derived from building's listing on the National Register of Historic Places. It is doubtful that this is a WP:COMMONNAME for the building; it was certainly never called that during its lifetime, when it served both the Rock Island and the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway. Grinnell Union Depot is given in the NRHP supporting documentation, as is Rock Island Lines Passenger Station (a descriptive name, not a proper name). The current occupant, The Peppertree at The Depot Crossing, refers generally to "The Depot", which would support Union Depot. Grinnell College uses both "Union Depot, Grinnell" and "Grinnell Union Depot" for its digital index pertaining to the structure. See also Arcadia Publishing's book on Grinnell, which refers to "Union Depot". Grinnell Union Depot would be an acceptable alternative; there is no consensus whether names such as these should be rendered as "X Union Depot" or "Union Depot (X)"; secondary sources are also inconsistent. Compare Chicago Union Station to Union Station (Los Angeles).
