Is this so important that it ought to occupy one paragraph of 5 in the lead? I don't even think it's important enough to be in the lead of Northwest Indian Wars which is the context described. A few Cherokee (Chickasaw, Chocktaw, and etc what about them??) crossed the river and fought in another war. And...?? If we had a free paragraph (and we do), what could we say about THIS war? No opposition to merging. However, since all content of the source is already in the target, I have blanked and redirected instead. Felix QW (talk) 11:47, 9 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Formal request has been received to merge: Cherokee War of 1776 into Cherokee–American wars; dated: August 7, 2021. Proposer's Rationale: These two events are hard to separate from each other. The opening volley of the decades long struggle of the C–A wars was, in fact, the events described in the neolistic Cherokee War of 1776 article. The names these events have garnered through the years are perhaps better suited and explained in one article, within the context of the over-arching Cherokee–American wars article. Discuss here.
