Chieko BaishōChieko Baisho – This is the spelling used on her official website. The Google books ratios for the two spellings are Chieko Baishō (current spelling): 16 versus Chieko Baisho (proposed spelling): 609, a ratio of forty to one. The Wikipedia policy I appeal to here is WP:JTITLE, specifically "Use the form personally or professionally used by the person (such as on their official website or official social media profile), if available in the English/Latin alphabet", and "Use the form publicly used on behalf of the person in the English-speaking world". Not going to vote here myself, but "simpler spelling" is not a valid reading. If she spelled her name with a macron, the non-macronned spelling would still be simpler. elvenscout742 (talk) 14:16, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
