Possible disruption

edit

Just a heads-up to watchers of this article.

A different, unrelated Chris Larsen is in the Canadian news cycle this week due to having been accused (but not convicted) of a crime, so this article may be vulnerable over the next few days to the kind of drive-by hijacking often committed by new editors or IPs who don't know how Wikipedia works, and think they're allowed to replace an article about one person with an article about somebody else with the same name instead of having to create their article at a differently-disambiguated title. And further, I have also already caught one instance of an article which was linking here, but intended the Canadian criminal suspect rather than the American investor.

Since there hasn't been a problem yet, I'm not going to apply preemptive page protection right off the bat — however, if a problem does occur over the next few days, I'll gladly apply temporary pending changes or sprot if necessary. So if you feel that protection has become necessary but can't just do it yourself, then feel free to notify me and I'll step in. And I'd also recommend checking this article's "what links here" more often than usual, as well: if you see anything related to either football or gaybashing, that's the other guy and should be unlinked right away.

Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 13:29, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
