editI've not a huge amount of time to research more on the man. The surname isn't particularly common so Google is our friend here.
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL) will help a lot, and I'll pop back when I have time. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 10:34, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- He appears to be a garden expert, was involved in suing a car hire company, and was a naval officer. Items regarding his education other than at Great Walstead School are also lacking as are birth and death dates. So I am assuming him still to be living. It is likely that a man of his notoriety will have a mainstream newspaper obit, after all. It seems he should not be confused with the Carew-Poles though that may be a surname foible deonting family branch.
- I have also found no free images and hesitate to use the cover picture from a book for him Fiddle Faddle (talk) 10:51, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
