Circus Maximus TourUtopia Tour Presents Circus Maximus – Per official booking sites and official website of the artist, this is the full name of the tour. https://help.livenation.com/hc/en-us/articles/18169877510289-Travis-Scott-Utopia-Tour-Presents-Circus-Maximus+23.134.91.240 (talk) 20:31, 27 September 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). 23.134.91.237 (talk) 05:45, 29 September 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 20:41, 8 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose, or possibly move to Utopia – Circus Maximus Tour. Wikipedia uses commonly recognizable names, not necessarily official names. For example, the article on the musician himself is called Travis Scott, not his legal name. The "common name" for a subject is generally determined by what independent sources use. Here, from what I can tell, "Circus Maximus Tour" and "Utopia – Circus Maximus Tour" are the most common. Anon126 (notify me of responses! / talk / contribs) 04:52, 9 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
The official tour name and his legal name are two different cases. For example, his fans refer to his album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight as "Birds" or "BITTSM" as the official title is long, so they shorten it. Do we move it to Birds (Travis Scott album) or BITTSM? No, we keep it as it is officially released. Same way, we should go by the official name for this and not what it is popularly referred to as. 23.134.91.240 (talk) 06:59, 9 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
The general rule is that we refer to independent sources, meaning reliable sources that are independent from the subject, things like news articles and books. These would almost certainly use the full name of the album. If reliable sources do in fact refer to that album as just "Birds" in preference to "Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight", then we could indeed have a serious discussion about moving that article to "Birds (Travis Scott album)" or similar.
