The request to rename this article to Colin Ferguson has been carried out. |
Colin Ferguson (actor) → Colin Ferguson – The actor is the clear primary topic by pageviews (getting around 92%) in a WP:TWODABS situation. The other "Colin Ferguson" doesn't have an article of his own, but is notable only for perpetrating a single mass shooting incident in 1993. It is a somewhat unfortunate sign of our times, but killing six people is no longer a particularly notable act. The disambiguation page is not needed, and can be quashed in favor of a hatnote. bd2412 T 18:04, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support. Per nom and WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. --В²C ☎ 18:56, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nomination and В²C. No need for the dab page. Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 04:55, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose in GBooks "Colin Ferguson" is overwhelmingly about the shooter and page views are nearly the same. the 6 murders and 19 woundings had a "significant" impact on American society and politics" according to this book. There's also the Scots bassist. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:45, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
- The page views you present are not comparing the correct titles. Specifically, you are comparing "Colin Ferguson (actor)" with "1993 Long Island Rail Road shooting", an event which is not synonymous with its perpetrator. The page views for the titles that are actually matching show that the actor gets over 120 times as many views as the convict. The importance of the event is irrelevant. There are many events of political significance perpetrated by insignificant individuals. The bassist is also irrelevant. They are not even the founding member of a relatively little-known band, and there is no article and no indication that this person is independently notable, nor has anyone ever bothered to even make a redirect at Colin Ferguson (bassist). I will concede, however, that the third entry (and the existence of an equally obscure Colen Ferguson) makes it reasonable to move the disambiguation page to Colin Ferguson (disambiguation), rather than deleting it. bd2412 T 16:50, 22 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support note that other topics are not covered in standalone articles. —innotata 22:53, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support. No prejudice against a DAB page, but the actor is the obvious primary topic. Nohomersryan (talk) 01:30, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support: The mass murderer and the H2O bassist don't have their own articles. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:14, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Retain the DAB regardless of where. It is clearly in the interests of some readers to have it. Andrewa (talk) 12:23, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
Retain the DABas we have 3 entries and another under see also. Neutral on the move per views [[1]] given that many looking for the actor will probably not have come from the search box, unlike the views for the redirects which mostly will, given its no longer a 2DABs situation. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:43, 29 September 2018 (UTC)- Striking per Amakuru's comments below. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:56, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. Page views in the last 30 days: Colin Ferguson (actor) 16,739, Colin Ferguson (mass murderer) 5,569. A ratio of 3:1 is nowhere near enough to define a WP:PTOPIC. Narky Blert (talk) 13:28, 30 September 2018 (UTC)
- That's not really a valid comparison – looking over 1 year, the actor has 99% of the page views – that's a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 23:24, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Support. And support original proposal to ditch the dab page, it is not needed. We don't maintain dab pages to nonexistent articles. — Amakuru (talk) 22:56, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- The link to H2O (Scottish band) passes WP:DABMENTION. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:56, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- That would apply if we already had a dab page and were trying to decide whether to include him. But after this RM we won't have a dab page any more because this is a two dabs scenario. So the question is only whether the H20 drummer is notable and worthy of a hatnote. I don't think he is. He'll never have an article so it's a waste of reader time to force them on to a dab page just for the purpose of including his link. — Amakuru (talk) 17:04, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Actually I agree, there's no need for a DAB if there is a PT, since the murderer and the H2O (Scottish band) can be linked in an {{about}} and Colen Ferguson can be linked in a {{Distinguish}}. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:07, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

- Support – page views show a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC claim for the actor. I also agree with Amakuru – ditch the WP:DABPAGE as per WP:TWODABS. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 23:26, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Support - as I cannot close due to not being able to delete the disambiguation page as part of the move (not an admin), I will vote instead. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 19:50, 3 October 2018 (UTC)

The Stupidest Angel (2012) was never made.
editThe 2012 version of the film attributed to Colin Ferguson was never made and references to past development have been scrubbed from the internet. The only source I can find verifying that the film was being worked on and he was ever attached to the project is an archived snapshot of an IMDB page from 2013.

A 2019 version appears to be similarly stuck in development but does not list Ferguson as a member of the cast.
