Assessment importance
editShe's one of the major ADR directors in Funimation, and also has prominent roles in a number of titles there. I downgraded her relative importance in the other projects though. Her bio still needs to explain her significance. -AngusWOOF (talk) 05:25, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
Regarding the ADR Director listing
editHello. There seems to be a disagreement betweek Sk8erPrince and Ninjalectual regarding the naming convention for the ADR director listing in the lead. I think we should just list ADR director by their abbreviations and it's not necessary to spell the name out. Thoughts? Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 17:22, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
- Agreed. And based on the emerging consensus here, other users seem to be in agreement as well. Sk8erPrince (talk) 17:25, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
Well, the MOS says that acronyms should be spelled out on their first mention in an article, and that users shouldn't be made to chase through links to defone a term that can be defined in a few words. How is that not the end of it? I quoted the exact passages in my edits.
The opposing arguments are basically "I don't think it's necessary [to follow the MOS]" or "I don't like it aesthetically".
You guys are arguing opinion. I'm arguing facts. Ninjalectual (talk) 08:43, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
If you don't agree with the MOS, argue to change the MOS, or add "subjective preferences of some users" as a legitimate exception. Short of that, we should follow the MOS. Ninjalectual (talk) 08:45, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Ok I was reading https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Consensus
Can you guys come up with a compromise that will allay my concerns while also meeting whatever standards you're using? Or can you at least define your standards better?
Is my understanding that your obections are based on perceived aesthetics accurate? Ninjalectual (talk) 08:56, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
