Constitution of 1778 - Established Religion

By my reading of the cited constitution (footnote 1), it is not quite accurate to say "all of the preexisting Protestant congregations being amalgamated into a single denomination but denied financial support," rather, they state that each denomination is still recognized as its own respective denomination, just that all Christian Protestant bodies are recognized as representing the established religion of the state, that being Protestantism. 50.225.226.196 (talk) 19:39, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
