Rating

edit

I rated this article "B" for the plethora of citations, and as "high" importance for the historical significance, longevity of the game, and the Toy Industry Association award of 2003. --Craw-daddy | T | 20:26, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Date of development?

edit

Just thought I'd say that the BoardGameGeek website says that this was invented in 1927 and "copyrighted without publication" in 1927. Of course, there's no reference at all to this (alleged) fact, but might warrant further investigation. --Craw-daddy | T | 20:26, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

As a child I remember having a very similar game called 'beetle' -this would be around 1966 in the UK - but I have no idea who made it.

Role & Move

edit

"The Game of Cootie is a children's roll-and-move" - I was just wondering how this could be defined as a roll and move game? I've never played it, but looking at the rules and pictures, don't you just take turns rolling the die and building the cootie? You don't move anywhere as such? Should this be changed to a die game or something? Last Polar Bear (talk) 14:43, 11 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Simplification and reduction of parts.

edit

The current Cootie design has fewer parts than the original or the second version. http://www.flickr.com/photos/14629221@N00/418651459/ In the current version the eyes are a single piece with a sticker and the antenna are a single piece VS two eye and two antenna pieces in the two prior versions. The current version also has tongue and antenna pieces in different shapes VS the single shape in prior versions. Bizzybody (talk) 09:54, 24 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

How can the name Cootie be a copyright of Milton Bradley when the games been around for so long? --24.94.251.19 (talk) 03:33, 19 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Milton Bradley has been around for a long time. RJBowman (talk) 19:07, 25 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
...but the game was originally made by Schaper. RJBowman (talk) 19:08, 25 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Result: Per previous ItsLassieTime GAR precedent. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 15:49, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

The article was almost exclusively written by the banned serial copyright violator ItsLassieTime, primarily with offline sources that are not easily accessible. I've sent the article to WP:CP where it'll most likely be shrunk to a stub, and as such will be nowhere near GA quality. Wizardman 23:50, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
