This article is heavily biased

edit

This article talks mostly from a USA perspective which needs to be made clearer. English speaking Wikipedia is not about USA for USA but for all.

Furthermore, the article talks about indigenous people as xx-dians and ignores the important part cowboys held in colonizing the west and therefore also also the genocide of indigenous people.

Indigenous people are in the text said to be creating trouble. If Germany ride into Denmark and take over all land, and Danish people then raid places to find food, we woul not said the Danish people are the troublemakers, as they would be under oppression.

The colonizers military force in USA did kill not only indigenous people but also killed hundreds of thousands of buffallo to make indigenous people starve. This was done so white people more easily could steal land from and kill indigenous people.

Today there Is no freedom to roam in USA. White people owning land is allowed to shoot people that walks on land theire relatives one time stole.

Cowboys cared for the food that made the colonialism in USA possible. They fed the military. The leaders. The landgrabbers. We can't write about cowboys as something unrelated to the genocide. 188.148.162.112 (talk) 14:08, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please note that Wikipedia is not the place to right great wrongs. Wikpedia policies require that we write articles with a neutral point of view, using reliable sources, giving due weight to all viewpoints published in reliable sources. So, what reliable sources do you propose be used to support changes to the article? - Donald Albury 15:44, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
"Today there Is no freedom to roam in USA." How is this relevant? The lack of human rights in the United States and the average American's lack of liberty has more to do with the current legal system than the American frontier. Dimadick (talk) 20:18, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Seriously?

edit

"Bush has been described in the press, particularly in Europe, as a "cowboy", not realizing that this was not a compliment."

WHO, exactly, is it that this article thinks doesn't realize that this was not a compliment? Bush? The press? Europe? The European press? I guarantee that they all know it is not a compliment. There is no source for the claim, so that claim should be removed. I would have removed that part myself, but the article appears to be locked from editing. 2601:840:8080:4B10:ECC9:2604:DC4B:CAB4 (talk) 23:01, 11 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Vaqueros/Vaqueiros are not just Spanish

edit

Cowboys are originally IBERIAN, not "Spanish". Vaqueiros still exist today in Portugal aswell. I dislike how Spain always overshadows Portugal when it comes to IBERIAN history and culture. Something shared by both countries will be seen as Spanish and not Iberian. 79.169.26.238 (talk) 20:11, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
