editThe four year anniversary of his death is coming up, wikipedia should honor him by giving him front page. Jan 8th 2006.
KFC bucket
editShould there be some mention of how Thomas invented the rotating KFC bucket sign in the article?
Net worth
editIt would be useful DONT CHANGE IT AGAIN to have a mention of what his net worth was. Wnissen 05:32, 16 September 2005 (UTC)
Ads
edit- He had such presence in these ads that many believed he was a professional actor.
Can this be repenned in such a way that the weasel clause "many [people] believed" is changed? That or some citation.
Just how many ads did he do? We've got 652 and "more than 800". Anyone have a citation on either number?Czrisher 19:06, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Date of death
editSomeone changed it in the article to the 6th, but every site I've found has the 8th. Speaking of which, here are the sites (all of them are obits): http://www.shrinershq.org/whatsnewarch/archives02/davethomas1-02.html http://slick.org/deathwatch/mailarchive/msg00628.html http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y02/m01/i09/s04 http://money.cnn.com/2002/01/08/companies/wendys_obit/
What about Wendy
editMany biographies mention that the original Wendy was Thomas's daughter Melinda, but what became of her? Inquiring minds need to know. Ghosts&empties 11:00, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Some corrected info regarding his early years
editThe restuarant he bgan working at as a busboy/dishwasher (the Hobby House) was in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also, he moved in with the owner's sister's family -- who was a waitress at the Hobby House (and my grandmother). He also met his wife at the Hobby House -- she was a waitress. Also, the Hobby House eventually closed and a Wendy's now sits on the very lot it occupied.
- Thanks for the info. I added it in.
- For those who'd like to add more to this article, The Biography Channel's page on him has plenty more info not given here. I already added some, but there are plenty more details at the following link:

DUI Claim
editI'm very dubious about the DUI claim that was inserted into the article. Unless I see a cite on it soon, I will be striking it from the article. If anyone would rather strike it first and then wait for it to be reinserted with a cite, feel free.

- No one's added a source yet, so I'm yanking the DUI claim.

- Any evidence or just a rumor of dui?

"Burger Man"?
editThe article claims that Thomas was a "burger man", which is an unprofessional and surely improper term, and links to a nonexistent article. I am changing the term to "restaurateur". Mal7798 (talk) 03:28, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:DaveOffice.jpg
editImage:DaveOffice.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Good Change With "Restaurater"
editGood change with incorporating the term "restaurater" over "burger man." I agree, the tern "restaurater" is more fitting and portrays Thomas more accurately. --DavidD4scnrt (talk) 06:31, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Apparent vandalism
editIt appears that vandals have inserted unsourced claims that Thomas was adopted by a couple of Lebanese descent and that Thomas himself was of Greek descent. If no one fixes that, I'm deleting those claims soon. --Coolcaesar (talk) 19:59, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
American?
editLooking at the disambiguation, there's no Dave Thomas (businessman) page. If there's no need to distinguish him from any other businessmen named Dave Thomas, is it really necessary to have "American" in the title? 50.133.186.133 (talk) 02:19, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Absolutely right. I've moved this as requested. ProhibitOnions (T) 04:50, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

No picture?
editThere should be a picture of Dave Thomas to accompany the article. 2601:8C:4500:480:7419:324E:43AF:2035 (talk) 23:23, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
