[Dea Matrona disambiguation] - Proposal to move Dea Matrona (band) to Dea Matrona
editWith the increased attention that Dea Matrona has been getting, it has come to my attention that many fans of the band have had trouble reaching the desired Wikipedia page, instead ending up in the Dea Matrona article (about the Celtic meaning), that previously had no redirects.
In an attempt to solve this issue, I have moved Dea Matrona to Dea Matrona (mythology). However, in discussion with user CambridgeBayWeather, I've been made aware that this is not the best solution.
It has been argued that due to the page views for both Dea Matrona and Dea Matrona (band), this page (currently Dea Matrona (band)) should occupy the undisambiguated title and Dea Matrona be moved to Dea Matrona (mythology). I do agree with this decision as it would avoid confusion between fans ending up on the page relating to the meaning in Celtic mythology instead of the desired page about the rock band.
However, because this suggestion falls under the Controversial requested moves and affects multiple pages, I will open discussion here before going through with the page moves. Fjrbaeta (talk) 01:15, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose The goddess is primary topic by long-term significance, and a 4:1 pageview ratio isn't enough to override that. * Pppery * it has begun... 19:29, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- I understand the long term significance. However be mindful that the 4:1 page view ratio is inflated precisely because of all the fans of the band ending up in the godess page instead of this one, which is the reason this topic was created in the first place.
- I'm just trying to find a solution this issue. If the requested moves are not the right solution, how do you suggest we solve this? Fjrbaeta (talk) 20:25, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- Wikinav shows only 83 of the 1K views are clicking through on the hatnote to the band. I'm not convinced this is a problem in need of solving. * Pppery * it has begun... 20:53, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- I understand. However, the hatnote was only added on the 7th of June, only one week ago. Which again, only confirms this problem. Fjrbaeta (talk) 21:03, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- Huh? The history shows it has been present since 2023. * Pppery * it has begun... 21:19, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- You're right. I added the disambiguation last week and thought it automatically added the hatnote, my bad. Fjrbaeta (talk) 14:24, 15 June 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose per Pppery—blindlynx 20:57, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. The band itself is 16 years younger than this article. Srnec (talk) 18:44, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. While it may be reasonable to add a disambiguator to the title, it would be wrong to label Dea Matrona "mythology," since there is no Gaulish mythology to speak of. If a dab is ever needed, it should be "Dea Matrona (goddess)" instead. Cf. the articles for Bellona, Luna, Pax, etc. Furthermore, I would not ever support the band's article being primary topic. It should have a dab regardless of whether the Goddess' article does too. — Uiscefada (talk) 19:13, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with the "goddess" disambiguation instead of "mythology". Disambiguating Dea Matrona was my inital idea. Fjrbaeta (talk) 01:01, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
