Regardless of copyright, it also needs reliable, independent sources to satisfy general notability guidelines: every department of every university in the world has a history, the salient point for including in Wikipedia is if enough reliable, independent sources outside the school or faculty members themselves have dedicated significant attention to this department. --Animalparty!
