sarriegis alleged statement
editi see no reason why sarriegis alleged statement would be relevant for the wp. the player has denied making such a statement ever. and WHO said he was "forced"? are there credible sources? or do we talk about assumptions? assumptions in the wp??? hmmmm.... --Galis (talk) 20:45, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- Sources are given, it's a statement that you can find anywhere in Greek media and made an upset that gives a taste of what is going on between the two clubs. - Sthenel (talk) 08:23, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- We all know tha greek media are anything other than serious! The player sais he did not say anything.
By the way.. why dopu you delete the 8-2??? --62.227.238.105 (talk) 09:05, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- We all know tha greek media are anything other than serious! The player sais he did not say anything.
Your personal view that media are not serious will not determine if the statement is correct or not. If you want to include the 8-2, you should provide all the results before 1960, not just the one you want. By the way, pre-A Ethniki results are hardly counted in statistics. - Sthenel (talk) 10:32, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- i don't have to mention ALL results because we talk about records. as long as there are no other results reaching this score we don't have to mention them. --62.227.238.105 (talk) 11:17, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- The records concern only Alpha Ethniki. - Sthenel (talk) 12:37, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- that's not correkt. the chapters have the title "Statistics" and "records". further the game is not listed under "Record Alpha Ethniki win". --62.227.238.105 (talk) 13:09, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Then put other records in this category not only what you like. - Sthenel (talk) 14:48, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- i only have this score and the relevant source. it's up to everybody to fill in any other record which belongs to this era. --62.227.238.105 (talk) 15:34, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Sarriegi
editFor one more time, do not remove sourced info. His statement is not alleged, you have no excuse to remove it but your annoyance as a fan of Panathinaikos. - Sthenel (talk) 23:12, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Edit warring
editI have temporarily protected this page due to a slow-motion edit war. Please find a compromise here on the talk page. If this is just a dispute between two editors then it might be helpful to ask for a 3rd opinion, WP:3O, so long as editors are willing to abide by it. If it's more complex than that a request for comment might bring in more viewpoints. WP:RFC. Either of these may help resolve the dispute. No matter what, please stop reverting each other. Panathinaikos-Olympiacos before 1959-60
editOK, I agree that all scores before 1959-60 have to compiled first and then added (not only the 8-2 win of Panathinaikos in 1930). We have a lot of work to do to offer ALL results to the page visitors :)
I don't understand why the Cup Final of 1988 is coloured in grey (draw) and not in green (Panathinaikos victory). The trophy was won by Panathinaikos after all. I would be glad to receive your rationale. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sinis smooth (talk • contribs) 07:44, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
- Penalty shootouts just determine the winner, but the result counts as a draw. The colour here stresses the result of each game. Btw, there is a mess in the article, we can't add footballboxes for hundreds of matches. We could do it only for recent matches. - Sthenel (talk) 12:43, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
The footballboxes are after 1990-91 (at least what I consider recent)...Could we create a link to a new page for them, anyway? Waiting for you kind reply! By the way, I am preparing statistics in the same way they exist here for the 'Olympiacos and AEK rivalry' and the 'Capital Derby'. I hope the same thing will go for them (concerning the footballboxes)! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sinis smooth (talk • contribs) 08:21, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
- Saying recent matches I mean the last 5 matches for example. So, we should remove all these and keep only the recent. No, a page that lists only footballboxes cannot be accepted in wikipedia. What's the "capital derby"? - Sthenel (talk) 11:13, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
The "Capital Derby" are the matches between Panathinaikos and AEK Athens. There's a page for it! So you are telling me, more or less, that old results between the big Greek clubs cannot (or must not be) mentioned anywhere. I admit that I am a newbie in Wikipedia articles, but I still wonder what kind of regulations say that only 5 last matches must be mentioned. I think Wikipedia means information. Waiting for your kind reply. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sinis smooth (talk • contribs) 12:16, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's the first time that I hear this name for the AEK-Panathinaikos derby, it's not a regular one. The old results are already mentioned in this article. Adding footbalboxes with details for dozens of matches is totally redundant in wikipedia. - Sthenel (talk) 12:27, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your comments and your timely answers. However, it's quite different to express personal opinions (which are respected) and actually enforce regulations according to official policy. I would be glad to know what the case is (and actually read the official policy for future reference)! Thank you in advance! More derbies
editI could see no place fitter to talk about this. The Battles of Crete is included here, so why aren't the "El Thracico" (Panthrakikos-Xanthi) and the derby of Smyrna (Panionios-Apollon Smyrna) included? Andreas George Skinner (talk) 16:14, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Statistics
editOlympiacos has played a total of 356 European matches in its history. Of those, 189 are against English, Spanish, Italian, German, French, Dutch and Portuguese teams, meaning mostly against giants. The percentage is 53.08%, i.e. more than half of Olympiakos' European matches were against teams from the 7 strongest countries.
On the contrary, Panathinaikos has played 297 European matches in its history, of which 125 were against teams from the seven strongest countries in Europe, i.e. a percentage of 42.08%, so much less than half.
Despite this, Olympiacos has more wins, both numerically and proportionally than the shamrock in its European history.
To summarize, Olympiacos has numerically more victories than Panathinaikos against teams from the 7 strongest countries, both at home (42-17) and away (12-9), but also cumulatively (55-26). 2A02:586:813D:2A91:2CA3:1BC:4759:FCE7 (talk) 19:29, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
