I owned an 1984 Shelby Charger that was silver on Garnet Red - purchased used with 16K on the clock in 1985. The article says the color was "new" for 1985 which may be in error - or the one I owned was produced late in '84. I do have the large sales brochure for '85 which does show the Garnet Red being available. I was told, at some point, that the way one could tell the '84 from the '85 was by the wheel lug count - 4 in '84 and 5 in '85. I had 4 lug 15 inch "Shelby" style wheels on my '84. Something to look for a source on to verify the "new" color claim. THX1136 (talk) 00:38, 27 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Should have read further down. In the "Shelby" section it notes that garnet red was available in '84 with only the silver on black being new to 1985. I am editing to make the sections consistent. THX1136 (talk) 00:48, 27 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
