merge with Dongfeng Motor
editI suggest that a redirect to Dongfeng Motor be placed at this page and its contents be folded in to that of the larger page. The problem is that if you type "dongfeng" into Google, three wikipedia pages appear, and this is one of them that should be of little interest to those looking for Dongfeng itself. The similarity of logos and corporate name may also mean that people read this page and believe that they are learning about Dongfeng itself. Fleetham (talk) 17:10, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose - this is a quite separate topic from Dongfeng Motor. Dongfeng Motor is a major Chinese automaker, the topic of this article is a joint venture between Donfeng Motor and Nissan. Both are independently notable.
- I agree that the name of the JV is strange, and a recipe for confusion, but that is an issue for Nissan and Donfeng as to why they chose this name rather than something like "Dongfeng Nissan". Rangoon11 (talk) 17:53, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- If the page shouldn't be merged, the name needs to be changed to a "common name." People looking for Dongfeng may be easily confused as to which company they are really after--Dongfeng Motor or this page. Perhaps "List of Nissan-Dongfeng joint ventures?" Fleetham (talk) 02:19, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
- There is a good argument for "Donfeng Nissan" as common name for the topic. I don't like "List of..." as this article is about a specific entity.Rangoon11 (talk) 21:41, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
- Well there are at least two Nissan-Dongfeng cooperative companies. Dongfeng-Nissan is better than what the page is currently titled, however. Fleetham (talk) 04:44, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
