Yoopers, or not?

edit

I have a question: what do people who live on Drummond Island call themselves? Technically, Drummond Island is not attached to the Upper Peninsula, so do they think of themselves as Yoopers? They definitely are not part of the Lower Peninsula, either. Are Drummond Island residents a third category of Michiganders, then? Thanks for any reply. --Saukkomies talk 12:21, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Area of Drummond Island

edit

The Drummond Township article lists Drummond Island itself as being 134 sq mi (350 km2), which is the same number cited in the Lake island article. However, the List of islands of the United States by area uses 125 sq mi (320 km2) with a factually inaccurate notation. A simple online search presents other numbers such as 83,000 acres (130 sq mi) and 87,000 acres (136 sq mi). However, the U.S. Census Bureau lists the entire township as encompassing 128.91 sq mi (333.88 km2) of land area at the 2010 census (see page 49). The Drummond Township article (and other island related articles) lists the land area of Drummond Island as being larger than that of the entire township itself, which also includes at least 65 other smaller islands. —Notorious4life (talk) 21:26, 5 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
