Proposed moves: DunkirkDunkirk (disambiguation) and Dunkirk, FranceDunkirk - Dunkirk in France is by far the most significant Dunkirk; most, if not all other Dunkirks are named after this one. Markussep 07:49, 5 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

"sometimes also known in English as Dunkerque" - bollocks!

edit

It reads:

"Dunkirk (French: Dunkerque), sometimes also known in English as Dunkerque, is a town and port in northern France"

And it is utter hogwash, so it is going to get rightly wiped.

Please be on the watch out for Francophone nationalists 'spiking' English language wikis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.65.142.56 (talk) 04:34, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

In English in the (fairly recent) past and even today, French spelling for geographical names in the Low Countries have been quite usual. Whether we like that or mot. Just open any English Historical atlas, like William Sheperds or Muirs. Gerard von Hebel (talk) 16:26, 11 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Added it's historic Dutch spelling: Duinkerke

edit

It was shoddily not listed. It lovingly is now. (-: — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.65.142.56 (talkcontribs) 04:43, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's Duinkerken, not Duinkerke. Gerard von Hebel (talk) 16:24, 11 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
