The result of the move request was: Moved. In actuality, these two articles are already sitting at the names proposed here, so that decision is confirmed. EMPA and EAWAG will continue to serve as redirects to the long English names. EdJohnston (talk) 16:58, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
- EMPA → Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology
- EAWAG → Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology
– Correct and usual ways to abbreviate these names. Relisted. BDD (talk) 17:15, 11 May 2013 (UTC) Agroduct (talk) 08:39, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
- Support alternative moves: Empa to Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, and Eawag to Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology. The English versions of their websites (Empa and Eawag) and the English version of the controlling body's website (Empa and Eawag) appear to use a mixture of short and long form as well as caps and no-caps. In line with the related requests at ETH Zurich and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, both the short and long English forms are quite commonly used and it is very difficult to prove that one form or the other is more prevalent, because they are often used together. Therefore it would be better to relocate the articles to clear long-form names. Green Giant (talk) 11:41, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
- Support moves to Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology and to Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology in order to have clear names. Leighperonn (talk) 12:32, 6 May 2013 (UTC).
- Oppose: The official name has been Eawag or Eawag: Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (ref) since 2005, but not just the second part alone. Before 2005, the name was EAWAG (see p. 13).
Similarly, the original name EMPA was changed to Empa a couple of years ago. I am, however, missing a reference for the actual year. --Leyo 23:00, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
