- Discuss this page's content here. I find putting the usage limited to Israel ahead of the English-world-wide usage close-minded and irrational, and there is nothing offensive or anti-Israel in using the English-world-wide meaning first. -- JHunterJ (talk) 03:09, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
"Egging" vs "Egged (eggs)"
editWe use redirects when suitable, such as when they match the title. See WP:DABREDIR. -- JHunterJ (talk) 10:38, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- Which part of the policy are you referring to here? "Egged (eggs)" seems like an unnecessarily confusing phrase to present the reader with. --McGeddon (talk) 10:54, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- I also preferred "Egging, being pelted with eggs", but Chutznik (incorrectly) objected because it didn't match the title, so I was trying for a compromise. WP:DABREDIR discusses the exceptions for using redirects, including redirects that match the dab title. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:05, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- Unless I've missed a discussion somewhere, Chutznik just rejected Egging as the top disambiguation of "egged" because he or she didn't feel it was the most common meaning, and said in addition that it was "not even the same word". I don't think that was a suggestion to create a fresh, confusing redirect that did include the same word. --McGeddon (talk) 12:25, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- This edit summary indicated the problem was that "egging" wasn't spelled "egged" (despite being forms of the same word). If the redirect solves that problem, great. -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:29, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- That was the edit I meant. Well, we'll see what Chutznik thinks of it. --McGeddon (talk) 12:57, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- If all Chutznik has to say is "Go ahead and block me and i really don't care, but this is just wrong to put Egging before the bus company", it looks like nobody here is explicitly arguing that "Egged (eggs)" is a clearer disambiguator than "Egging". I'll put it back to the article name. --McGeddon (talk) 08:46, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
