Non-neutral point of view and insufficient references

I'm adding the POV tag and the Refimprove tag because this article 1) cites very few sources to back up claims in the text and 2) reads in a way that, at least to me, seems strongly to presuppose the correctness of the ideas described in the article, though those ideas are not obviously true. See WP:NPOV, and especially WP:ASF: this article makes many disputable assertions, and in most cases does not attribute them. One example from the article text is the sentence, "The mass media over time will impact more and more individuals—primarily using the English language—to become more similar as indigenous films and artifacts become marginalized by a cultural tsunami created by high quality and mass produced media messages and systems."

There are a number of other examples, though I hope I won't have to catalog them, where the writing uses words with negative connotations to suggest that the trend described in the article is actually occurring as described, and is unfavorable. While both claims are arguable, neither is obvious or universally accepted.. I don't know a lot about this topic, and I suspect some other Wikipedians do, so I hope someone out there can contribute a source or two and a few minutes' editing to make this article more balanced. I had added two references (in connection with the term "digital colonialism") on 30 April 2019, and they were removed for some unknown reason on 12 June 2020. So I include them here now for posterity.
