Criticism

edit

This bio is wholly inadequate. Francqui is alleged to have participated in crimes against humanity in the Congo, and engaged, with Herbert Hoover, in defrauding investors in various business dealings in China and (if memory serves) South Africa. See, for example, John Hamill's 1930 expose of Hoover's business career, "The Strange Case of Mr Hoover Under Two Flags." Captqrunch (talk) 13:47, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Port Francqui

edit

Can anyone confirm that the city of Ilebo was renamed Port Francqui after this person? According to fr:wikipedia, but without any reference, the city's name would be derived from an expedition called "Bia-Francqui"? Jan olieslagers (talk) 18:17, 18 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
