Move and CE

edit

Today I did an uncontroversial RM per WP:SINGULAR and did much CE before that.

Having had a little more time, I suggest that this is a neologism in English Wikipedia. Wiktionary does not have a WP:DICDEF for it, and I can find it in none of my woodware dictionaries. None of the sources is from a primarily English-speaking author or journal (and I have checked them all). This is not WP:OR, but a lot bounds on being a dictionary definition and lists of examples rather than an encyclopaedic article. Some of the article appears to be written from a Russian POV, yet there is no Russian article I can find. Most of it is just a specious set of "words that come from somewhere or another". German WP does not have an article on it, neither does Finnish (of course Finnish is Finno-Ugric so has little relation to a Slavic or Germanic language, but that is by the by).

The sources given do not back up the content of this article, which appears to be written by a Russian, I mean just from internal evidence, yet there is no article about it in Russian WP.

This may be – I am guessing – because the original contributor User:Lucy Pogosyan was not familiar with English Wikipedia and can probably help me get this article into shape here, that she could provide the content while I do the markup and so forth. I'd very much like her to help work with me to improve this article, but in its current state, frankly it should never have got past draft. How something gets from Draft to being approved without checking for WP:SINGULAR is a failure of draft review, not of the contributing editor. 178.164.132.118 (talk) 12:38, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
