Citing different sources

edit

Hello, I would like to cite more secondary/tertiary sources for this article.

1. Source for his educational background: https://www.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/news/2018/07/05/ceo-eric-verdin-buck-institute-pharma.html
2. Source for his affiliation with UCSF: https://www.northbaybusinessjournal.com/northbay/marincounty/6482105-181/buck-institute-aging-research-biotech-novato
3. Source for HDACs: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3970420/
4. Source for being highly cited: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=SKFD2LcAAAAJ&hl=en. We will need to actually change the sentence into: "He is a highly cited scientist with h-index of 103 and has been recognized for his research with a Glenn Award for Research in Biological Mechanisms of Aging and a senior scholarship from the Ellison Medical Foundation."
5. Source for the number of patents: https://patents.justia.com/inventor/eric-verdin
6. Source for number of papers: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=SKFD2LcAAAAJ&hl=en. Can we change the sentence into: "He has published more than 300 scientific papers and currently holds 20 patents."?

Also, I would like to add a sentence about how Dr. Verdin was involved with the launch of a biotechnology company called Napa Therapeutics in August 2018: "Napa Therapeutics, a biotechnology company that focuses on developing drugs against aging-related targets, was built on the NAD metabolism research from Verdin's lab." Here is the source: https://www.biospace.com/article/buck-institute-insilico-med-and-juvenescence-found-napa-therapeutics-to-focus-on-age-related-diseases/.

  1. ^ This reference could not be added because the source is behind a paywall. Please provide a quote of the content by placing the information under the |quote= parameter of the reference template.
  2. ^ The source for this claim ideally would have come from UCSF, as they are the final source on whether the subject has an association with their institution. Nevertheless, the reference was added.
  3. ^ This part of the edit request proposal was declined because the provided source does not state which lab it was who first cloned this family of enzymes. The source provided by the proposed source states that the first histone deacetylase, HDAC1, was isolated and cloned in 1996.[1] The subject's name is not part of the authors listed in that source.
  4. ^ This part of the edit request proposal was declined because it uses the subjective word highly. The use of that word in the article has been omitted. This word in relation to being cited is acceptable.
  5. ^ According to the provided source, the subject has filed for patents to protect twenty (20) inventions. Of those 20, five (5) have been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) while fifteen (15) applications are still pending. The article has been updated to reflect this count with qualifications as provided by the source.
  6. ^ This part of the edit request proposal was declined because the number of patents granted is not verified by the provided source.
  7. ^ This part of the edit request proposal was declined because it is unclear what is meant by the words "was built on."

removing a warning box at the top of the page

edit

Hello, I am the Communications Manager at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging and would like to have the warning removed from the top of our CEO's page. It says: "This article may have been created or edited for undisclosed payments..." I have posted a disclosure statement that i work for the organization for which i am trying to edit the page and the CEO's page. How can i have that warning box removed? There are edits the CEO would like to his page - updates to his bio.

Thank you! Chloe — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chloecaviness (talkcontribs) 18:06, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'll invite Doc James to this discussion; he made the edit at Special:Diff/866651414 and will likely be able to help here.   ~ ToBeFree (talk) 18:15, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
You were not the paid editor that edited this page undisclosed though. Additionally you should only post suggestions here and not edit the article directly. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 10:05, 19 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Doc James: - how can i rectify this situation and get that warning box removed? What content do you find questionable and can i do anything to ease your concerns? Chloecaviness (talk) 18:30, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
