Asperger's Syndrome
editEven as my last revert was temporally appropriate (relative to WP:3RR), I don't like to remove information without discussing such removal with other editors, and so I wonder here if anyone might offer views apropos of the propriety of reverting User: Cool Kizmet's recent edits. Notably, the user has twice inserted a suggestion that per Sullivan suffers from Asperger's syndrome, and, most recently, has appended an unencyclopedic locution to the effect that, at the very least, the character whom per Sullivan portrays on MITM is so afflicted. Surely specific notes as to the character of Dewey are more appropriately inserted into the MITM article, but I don't think the discussion vis-à-vis Asperger's, unsourced as it is, is particularly appropriate in any case. Notably, a Google search reveals only a handful of pages on which the prospective Asperger's of per Sullivan is discussed; a fan website contains a mention of the syndrome but quotes per Sullivan's father as denying the veracity of the rumor (this quote, I readily concede, isn't well-sourced either). Notwithstanding Cool Kizmet's recent edit noting that it is perhaps the character Dewey for whom a diagnosis of Asperger's is appropriate, it would perhaps be alright for us to include speculation about per Sullivan's condition were such speculation rampant; such speculation, then, would be news itself, irrespective of its correctness. In this case, though, as the search supra demonstrates, there is no general whispering as to per Sullivan's being an Aspie (which term is in no way pejorative, inasmuch as it's used passim as a NPOV term in our own article on the syndrome). - Erik does not have any of the symptoms described in the Asperger's syndrome article. I don't know how/why that rumo[u]r got started. Stephe1987 21:11, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
"Former actor" question
editThe lede states that Per Sullivan is a "former actor". However, the "Career" section says nothing about him retiring from acting, much less offers a reference. Just because there's a lull in someone's commercial career doesn't necessarily mean that they no longer intend to act. Many actors stay active in community theater, for example. Perhaps he's retired, perhaps not. Author, please provide your source. Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 23:00, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
- The author did not respond to my request for a source. Therefore, I deleted the word "former". If a source turns up, feel free to reinstate the word. Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 20:36, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
- Anonymous user 71.11.139.237 (talk · contribs) changed the lede to say that Per Sullivan "WAS an American actor". Is this another unsourced way to say that he has retired from acting or perhaps that he has died? He was in a 2010 film, Twelve (2010 film), gone to college in California, and according to several net worth sites, he was worth either $2,000,000 or $3,000,000 in 2013 (depending on the site). There were apparently web hoaxes circulated regarding his "death", as there have been for so many other celebrities, but there is no reliable source found to say that he died or even merely retired from acting. The change is reverted back to "IS an American actor". Thank you, 24.47.173.120 (talk) 16:47, 11 August 2014 (UTC) SORRY: I would have sworn that I was signed in. - Anonymous 71.11.139.237 (talk · contribs) has again given Per Sullivan's career and/or life the heave-ho without a source to that effect. Perhaps she knows something that we don't or is a severe critic? Please, unknown poster, provide your source, that's all I ask. Meanwhile, reverted. Surname for Dewey?
edit"Wilkerson" is added in the Filmography box as the character Dewey's surname. I found a comment on the Malcolm in the Middle's Talk Page that suggests "Wilkerson" was possibly used in 2 places, one merely a quick visual: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Malcolm_in_the_Middle. I do not know whether or not that is true, but for all the aired episodes I do remember, they were very careful NOT to reveal a surname. For example, when Malcolm's name was announced in the high school graduation episode, a loud sound obscured his surname: "Malcolm [loud noise!]". That kind of thing occurred over and over in the episodes I remember. Is there a source that gives the family's surname as "Wilkerson" or, indeed, as anything at all? Thank you, 24.47.173.120 (talk) 17:21, 11 August 2014 (UTC) SORRY: I would have sworn that I was signed in. Wordreader (talk) 17:24, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
actor VS former child actor
editWhy is Erik Per Sullivan considered an actor, while Angus T. Jones is a former child actor? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.99.198.66 (talk) 15:17, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- If there's no good reason for Jones' classification that you can see, then you should change it. From his article, it looks like he's had more recent roles. Thank you, Wordreader (talk)
- This topic was copy-pasted onto Jones Talk page, too. Wordreader (talk) 09:31, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
