Requested move

Teschen is the name established in English for the whole historic pre-1918 region, see Duchy of Teschen. Using only the Polish name is not acceptable. -- Matthead  DisOuß   00:35, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

It is one of the possible names, Czech or Polish, no matter. Teschen is mainly German, there is no reason to use German name for the Euroregion in Poland and the Czech Republic. ≈Tulkolahten≈^≈talk≈ 01:09, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Is there any evidence that the current German name is used in English in the context of this contemporary region? I would be surprised if it is, given that most modern-day English-language references refer to the contemporary town using Cieszyn. Knepflerle (talk) 01:47, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

The article fails to provide any evidence that the Polish name is used in English. How about http://www.euregio-teschinensis.org/index2/index_a.php saying The euroregion was established on 22 / 4 / 1998 by the signing of the agreement between Regional Association for the Czech-Polish cooperation of Teschinensis Silesia that consists of The Association of Jablunkov Municipalities, The Association of Karviná District Municipalities and The Regional Council for Development and Cooperation with the headquarters in Třinec (on the Czech side) and Regional Association for Development and Cooperation “Olza“ (on the Polish side). Obviously Latin, it's safe to say that this translates to English as "Silesia of Teschen", or simply "Teschen Silesia" (same issue there, of course). -- Matthead  DisOuß   02:30, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

It is easy for Matthead to just pick up sites which agree with his WP:POINTs. By the way, official name of this euroregion as approved by the European Union is "Euroregion Těšínské Slezsko / Śląsk Cieszyński", hmm, I wonder it this one is better than the current one ... - Darwinek (talk) 07:54, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
