Requested move 9 August 2023
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. Per WP:NCPDAB. Ross' disambiguator can be discussed in a separate RM – no need to hold up the 5 other uncontroversial moves. (closed by non-admin page mover) Skarmory (talk • contribs) 23:20, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- Farhat Abbas (senator) → Farhat Abbas (politician)
- Jack Hart (state senator) → Jack Hart (politician)
- Stephen C. Johnson (state senator) → Stephen C. Johnson (politician)
- John F. Keenan (state senator) → John F. Keenan (politician)
- Jonathan Ross (senator) → Jonathan Ross (politician)
- William Ruger (state senator) → William Ruger (politician)
– Disambiguation terms should be general rather than specific. WP:NCPDAB says to use "standard, commonly used tags", and indicates that "(politician)" is a commonly used term. As far as I can tell, these are the only articles about politicians known as Farhat Abbas, Jack Hart, Stephen C. Johnson, John F. Keenan, Jonathan Ross and William Ruger. - Support per nom. Standard disambiguation. Although I would be tempted to rename Jonathan Ross (senator) to Jonathan Ross (judge), as he was a judge for longer than he was a politician. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:30, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
