Vernation

edit

Probably needs to be merged with vernation. Tmesipt 4.24.04.

  • I don't think so; vernation is more general botany; fiddlehead is specific to ferns, culinary, and folkloric, as well as botanical ... Carter 16:39, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Merge of fiddlehead greens

edit

That article seems to be quite a short one, just describing one specific type of fern that's eaten in North America. I think it would be better merged here. I'll do it in a few days if no-one objects (and if I remember). Thomas Kluyver (talk) 16:33, 14 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Black Season?

edit

What is this supposed to mean: "As fiddleheads are harvested early in the black season [...]" I cannot find "Black Season" in any dictionary. 192.102.160.170 (talk) 09:22, 14 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Health hazard of eating raw

edit

On August 8th someone added the bit "although some have attributed eating raw fiddleheads to sickness." This supported by Facts on Fiddleheads, an external link on the Fiddlehead_fern page. ClueBot NG erroneously thought it was vandalism and reverted it. I would put the health warning back myself; but, as I am not a regular contributor, I don't know how to do this without avoid running afoul of ClueBot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.254.100.95 (talk) 12:35, 2 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
