Talk:Fight Night Round 4
Release Date
editI was just wondering if it was worth mentioning in the artice that I've seen on numerous sites that it says the date of release is 14th August 09 —Preceding unsigned comment added by JDLinfield (talk • contribs) 23:24, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, since the website just generically says "Summer '09", July 1st probably isn't very accurate. Considering however that gaming websites tend to use generic release dates also, I'd say that the July 1st date is probably about as likely to be accurate as August 14th. I went ahead and changed it to Summer. Basically, until the publisher says otherwise, no third party website will know. 76.191.147.185 (talk) 04:34, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
14th of August is the likely date, it was moved from March in October 2008, so I reckon they are struggling to get signatures of boxers to play Welshman25 (talk) 14:03, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Mike Tyson said it would be released June 30th on ESPN

I heard from Guerrero's Coach that Robert "the Ghost" Guerrero will also be in the game.
Roster
editLet's get some more names down guys, I've added a couple more which I discovered on IGN, but if you see anywhere, a credible source saying that a boxer is in the game, come and add him. 90.242.135.61 (talk) 17:38, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, James Toney, Lennox Lewis, Eddie Chambers, Sergio Mora, Kelly Pavlik, Roy Jones, Vinny Paz, & Jermain Taylor have been officially announced. Screenshots of Tommy Morrison, Thomas Hearns, Arturo Gatti, Ricky Hatton, & Winky Wright are on ign.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.168.204.10 (talk) 22:29, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
IGN just added Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Ronald Wright, Emanuel Augustus, Nate Campbell, Corey Spinks, Vivian Harris, Kermit Cintron, and Ricky Hatton to the announced roster. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.180.23.118 (talk) 20:38, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Here is a link to the full 50 fighter roster for FNR4 - http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/04/fight-night-round-4-roster-features-50-faces-to-rearrange/ - I'll attempt to put it in but I'm not too good at editing. MD —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.96.165.91 (talk) 20:00, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Okay...I tried to add that list of fighters but it didn't come out right. I was thinking someone should make a table and list the boxers in each weight class. I tried to but don't know how. MD —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.96.165.91 (talk) 20:17, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Floyd Mayweather Jr
editCan someone tell me why the greatest boxer of all time the pretty boy is not in this game? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.144.154.33 (talk) 11:13, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
Because you touch yourself at night.

Because his greedy ass wanted to much money to be in the game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.162.8.57 (talk) 06:12, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
This article is so shit. I blame the idiots who kept deleting our roster lists. Nice one jackasses
Review IGN gave the game a 8.8/10
Expansion
editIf someone could put up roster & soundtrack listings to expand the article that would be great. Even a few more features would be good to make the article a bit more full. Thanks
Features Section
edit...Reads and looks like it's taken directly from the marketing compaign.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.171.115.25 (talk • contribs)
- Yep, removed as copyright violation. --aktsu (t / c) 14:50, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
This article is pretty poor really, I don't know what fools keep deleting all the changes but it's ruining it. Do you think maybe we could add a Controversy bit or atleast something under "Controls"...because the buttons were removed and there's a petition website, its been noted in several reviews and its all over the IGN boards. I can get references from reviews if I need to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.96.165.91 (talk) 18:02, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- By all means, feel free to expand it -- just don't copy-past material from other websites etc. Regarding the button-controls, I believe they just announced that it would be added in a DLC or patch. --aktsu (t / c) 18:31, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Just as an aside, petitions, boards, forums, people complaining are all unreliable. Feel free to add a comment from a review though! Thanks! Fin©™ 20:25, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Falcon you do absolutely nothing to help this article at all....... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.77.16.72 (talk) 15:24, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Reception
editProps to whoever did the roster - nice job. The next bit which looks ugly is the reception bit, not really sure what to add. I was thinking quotes from a number of reviews from trusted sites like Gamespot, IGN etc. Add some meat to the section. Thoughts? MD —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.96.165.91 (talk) 14:21, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Once again super props to whoever did the reception! Lots of quotes and good content in there now. I don't know what else to add to this article. BUT...who took the roster section out??!?!? There was NOTHING wrong with it! MD —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.96.165.91 (talk) 14:10, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- That was me with the reception, thanks. Per this discussion at the Video games WikiProject, a roster shouldn't be listed in an article, but it can be summarized in writing and prose in its own section. I didn't remove it though, but I agree with the decision to do so. For now, I think we need to create Gameplay and Development sections– I'll try to put in a bit of work on it in the next week or so. -- Nomader (Talk) 19:41, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Soz my bad I didn't know about the roster. Yeah a gameplay and development section would be good - I added a bit to DLC because EA said they'll release the button punches and extra stuff for free at end of august. MD —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.96.165.91 (talk) 07:27, August 13, 2009 (UTC)
- No, it's quite alright, it's hard to find that kind of random stuff. Yeah, I noticed you did, nice work. I'll probably start a development section within the next couple days. -- Nomader (Talk) 21:32, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Multiplayer Capability
editSomeone might like to make mention of its multiplayer capabilities. i.e. is it two player offline multiplayer and two player online multiplayer? I would make the appropriate addition, however im not sure what the multiplayer capabilities are, hence why i came to the article to find out. 220.233.41.31 (talk) 13:31, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
That'll probably go in the Gameplay section when we get around to doing it. There a lot of multiplayer features to include like the matching system, tournaments, title belts, individual weight class rankings (instead of one big rank table). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.96.165.91 (talk) 11:02, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Roster information
editI have input the roster information for the game but already somebody has opted to delete it as 'gamecruft'.TheBigJagielka (talk) 15:09, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Correct, per WP:GAMECRUFT. A list of boxers contained in the game isn't really useful information. Thanks! Fin©™ 15:21, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
I respectfully disagree...Aren't characters listed for fighting games (ala Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter)? One would think that the fighters and weight classes would be an integral part to an article about a boxing game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.76.49 (talk) 03:10, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
