Additional citations
editWhy and where does this article need additional citations for verification? What references does it need and how should they be added? Hyacinth (talk) 01:24, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Citations are needed for verification, throughout the article. Reliable sources discussing the song should be cited. - SummerPhD (talk) 03:15, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
Melody
editthe melody of this song is so familiar, but i cant quite place it .... it's possible that at some point when i was younger, i heard a nursery rhyme that was a derivative of this, and assumed it was the original, having never heard the version with frogs. but I can't track that down either. mostly putting this here as a reminder to myself so i can remember what it is. —Soap— 18:52, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Using numbers in a sentence
editUnless if it's from a specific source, then I would have to spell out the numbers that are zero to ten in words. MOS:NUMERAL. Allan Bao (talk) 23:25, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- It's from a source. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/them) 19:14, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- Here's another [1] that does uses the number words but ends on "he", and uses "some most delicious bugs".
- Would be good to switch to a different source that spelled it out, if you want to look for one. --Lord Belbury (talk) 22:34, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- Could use a better source than nurseryrhymes.org, which doesn't look particularly well written ("Sing, count, learn and anjoy - all while you are singing the nursery rhyme Five Little Speckled Frogs.!") and may be using less common wordings ("some most delicious grubs"?). --Lord Belbury (talk) 08:25, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- Maybe could’ve found a better source that also uses the more common "Glub, glub", instead of "Brup, Brup." (as that would be confused with “Burp, Burp.")

Bus source
edit"A little girl on a public bus in Cambridge"? theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/them) 00:00, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
This article is not accurate and the source is unreliable.
editThere are three names related to this song, namely, Lucille Wood, Louise Binder Scott and Virginia Pavelko from various web pages. Its original title might be "Ten Little Frogs" and then adapted as "Five Little Frogs" and in later versions it is re-titled to "Five Little Speckled Frogs". It is probably not a traditional song at all but one written in 1950s. Please verify this article again. — HenryLi (Talk) 16:36, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
