edit

Rumour has it he died from a heart failure this very morning (31/10/11). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.243.208.195 (talk) 08:59, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

This has been confirmed by reliable sources now and added to the article. Akjar13 (talk) 11:41, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Senior

edit

I'm not sure why this page has been moved, I've never heard him called this before. Recommend it is moved back to Florian Albert. Catchpole (talk) 21:40, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've collected some info in order to improve the article and I can say that his son is sometimes mentioned as Jr., I have not came across any site calling him Sr. The page was moved to split the title between him and his son, though maybe not the best way. Listing the Golden Ball winner as Flórián Albert (footballer born 1941) and his son as Flórián Albert (footballer born 1967) might be a more correct solution.
Another thing. I'd like to ask some help to fix the contradiction about his senior goals. The source referring to the career stats table says he scored 255 times, while it is listed 256 in every news site. I wonder if there's any reliable stats of former football players? Is the one given in the article reliable? – Thehoboclown (talk) 18:17, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I moved it to distinguish him from his son, Flórián Albert, Jr. - I agree that disambiguating by date of birth would also be acceptable. GiantSnowman 13:39, 9 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
If the father is the primary topic, as seems reasonable, WP:TWODABS suggests we keep him at Flórián Albert and just add a hatnote linking to the son's page. If people wanted to do that, it'd need listing at Wikipedia:Requested moves. As to the stats, the cited source may be reliable, although I have no way of judging the reliability of Japanese sites, but that doesn't necessarily make it correct. Are there any official bodies, Ferencvaros or the Hungarian Football Federation perhaps, who might have published a breakdown of his club goalscoring? cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:42, 10 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Flórián Albert, Sr.Flórián Albert – As pointed out, none of the the sources refer to him as Florian Albert Sr., but simply as Florian Albert. There are only two topics to which the proposed title might refer (he and his son), and this one is the primary topic so moving him under the requested name should be neccessary, with linking to Florian Jr. via hatnote. – Thehoboclown (talk) 09:55, 13 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
