Lacking history
editThe article needs some history. When and by whom were these devices introduced? How widely are they used? Have they completely replaced film for medical X-rays? Have they done so in some countries but not others? Do they have a lifetime, and if so how does the cost per image compare to film? Edison (talk) 19:55, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

I propose that Amorphous Selenium Flat Panel Detectors be merged into Flat panel detector. I think the content already on that page would be appropriate for this page, without making it excessively long. I do not think that wikipedia should have separate articles for each detector type, especially given both articles current lengths. Thoughts? Beevil (talk) 14:59, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
