It says Van der Elst won 86 caps for the Belgian national team. However, the infobox has 86 caps total for him. Does this mean his team won all of them? Or did he somehow win even when the team lost or drew a game? 85.76.102.33 (talk) 13:42, 6 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Belated response: the phrase "winning a cap" means simply being chosen to play for a national team, so it's just another way of saying he made 86 appearances – nothing to do with the results of the matches. Jellyman (talk) 13:50, 11 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
