I was thinking for a while that Fred Smith (bassist) from Television (band) and this guy were the same person
editBut evidently not.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 22:13, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Year of birth
editThe NY Times obituary cited (as ref 1) in the article gives Fred's age as 44 when he died. The article however states he was born in 1948 and died in 1994 two months after his 46th birthday. Find-a-grave (also in the links) gives 1949 but no month. Any way to verify the right year? Plutonium27 (talk) 22:03, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- I found one "reliable source" (Allmusic) that gives his date of birth as 9/13/1949. I updated the article accordingly. If other reliable sources surface, we should change the article to deal with the uncertainty concerning his DOB. See Betty Shabazz for an example of somebody with multiple sources claiming different dates of birth. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 22:34, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm his son. He was born in 1948. All music is incorrect. Jsmith1982 (talk) 18:48, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Jackson. Thank you for correcting the article. I found a source (Encyclopædia Britannica) that shows 1948 as his year of birth. If you know of any other print sources, whether they're available on the internet or not, please post that information here. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:23, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
