The result of the move request was: 'moved to Fredy (footballer born 1990). -- BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:06, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
Fredy (Portuguese footballer) → Fredy (Angolan footballer) – This dual citizenship football player has 3 things with Angola (born there, ancestry and senior team), while he has 2 with Portugal (lives there and youth teams). Also comparing the level of teams, senior is more relevant than youth, so I see the need to make this move. MonFrontieres (talk) 20:33, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
- Support We define footballers' nationalities the way FIFA does, so this is correct. No objections to keeping the current name as a redirect unless there's a Portuguese footballer named Fredy. --BDD (talk) 18:14, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

- Oppose - and move to Fredy (footballer born 1990) to avoid issues related to changing nationality. GiantSnowman 18:25, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
- His senior appearance assures that we'll be displaying an Angolan flag next to his name in rosters. If he retires and becomes a notable politician in some other country, we can revisit the name. Remember, per WP:NCPDAB, "Years of birth and death are not normally used as disambiguators (readers are more likely to be seeking this information than to already know it)." --BDD (talk) 18:32, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
- Ricky Shakes - born in one country, but represented two others at full international level. GiantSnowman 18:50, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
