Assessment
editThis article needs serious expansion, particularly in the History section, but overall. A list of shows does not make a television company article. LordAmeth 15:08, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Kyūtai Panic Adventure!
editWhat anybody tell me about "Kyūtai Panic Adventure!" and "Kyūtai Panic Adventure Returns!". All I know is, that involves primarly the DBZ and One Piece cast protecting the the sphere portion of the Fuji TV building safe from Freeza, Arlong, and in "Returns" Enel. Fuji Television → Fuji TV – Whenever someone refers to this network it is usually referred to as Fuji TV both in Japanese when the name is spelled out in romanji and outside the country in other languages. The same goes for the page for Nippon TV which is isn't Nippon Television. Also, it will make it easier to distinguish it from Fiji Television which many will often confuse it with when misspelled. The name change will also alleviate it. AquilaXIII (talk) 21:39, 17 January 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. samee talk 22:40, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- Weak oppose. If I understand correctly, the station is usually referred to as "Fuji Terebi" in Japanese whereas the other station you mention is usually called "Nittere," where "terebi"≈television and "tere"≈TV, but that's neither here nor there in terms of deciding upon an article title since that's dependent upon English-language usage. I would need to see some data to be convinced of English usage. (I doubt that the possibility of confusion between "Fuji" and "Fiji" is very significant.) Dekimasuよ! 00:09, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support. All the times I've seen Fuji Television referred to in an article or website I've mostly seen it as "Fuji TV". KumaPanda (talk) 20:57, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Requested move 30 April 2023
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. The only opposition was on the grounds of WP:COMMONNAME, but the discussion resulted in no consensus on which name for the network is actually most common. With this argument factored out as inconclusive, the remainder of the discussion indicates a rough consensus for the proposed title. Fuji TV → Fuji Television - As previously discussed, the term "Fuji TV" is commonly used, but the official name used by the network on their official website and social media accounts is actually "Fuji Television." The reason why Nippon TV is not referred to as "Nippon Television" is because that is already its official name, and the same goes for TBS Television not being called "TBS TV." Even though "Fuji TV" (Fuji Terebi) is a commonly used nickname in Japan, the proper and official name for the network in both Japan and English is "Fuji Television."Akasakamoto (talk) 14:41, 30 April 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. - Support per my comments last time. The last discussion also only resulted in a move because the requester was socking. Dekimasuよ! 16:08, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose WP:COMMONNAME/WP:OFFICIALNAME do not use official names just because they are official, use the common form instead. You stated the common form is the current title, and that the requested name is the official form, which isn't the common form, which contravenes Wikipedia policy, barring any other reasoning. -- 64.229.90.172 (talk) 06:54, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- It is true that we do not use official names just because they are official, but note that "commonly used" is not the same as "most common form in reliable sources" either. I see about 600 hits for "Fuji Television" in Google Books and about 500 for "Fuji TV". Further evaluation would be better, but it appears clear that both are "commonly used". "Fuji Television" is a more accurate transliteration and seems to also be slightly more common in English. If you'd like to present other evidence, please do. Dekimasuよ! 12:12, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
