Notable patrons
editWhat's the point of the Notable Patrons section?
Does the article on New York's Central Park have a "notable visitors" section? Does the article on the Sound of Music (on Broadway have a list of "notable attendees"?
So why list the "notable patrons" of gay bathhouses? Is this just for the sake of gossip? Or are we trying to say that since these famous people frequent bathhouses, it's OK for others to do it? In any case, this this seems unnecessarily sensationalist. This belongs in a tabloid, not an encyclopedia.Omc (talk) 23:28, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
Images
editThe image of the Jermyn Street Hammam (at 76 Jermyn Street) should be removed as these baths (all to often confused with the Savoy baths at No.92) were never gay,[1] and were destroyed during the Blitz. An image of the Everard baths, the Savoy, Bermondsey, or Harrow Road would be much more appropriate if they could be found. Ishpoloni (talk) 08:44, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
This is definitely a confusing one. It does however look like that image was added partly in error maybe thinking it was of the Savoy baths. I have checked and can find no references to the Hammam being important in gay history. The Savoy ones do but I can find no images available. I will remove the image from this article. Thanks for your help on this!
