Glossary of Lie algebras → Glossary of Lie groups and Lie algebras – In general, it is better to have a fewer glossaries, for the sakes of both readers and editors. “Lie algebras” seems a little too narrow a scope and it makes sense to broaden the scope. Taku (talk) 03:59, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
- I don't have an objection in principle, but we don't currently have a glossary of Lie groups, do we? Unless you (or someone else) quickly adds some material pertaining to Lie groups to the renamed glossary, I don't think it is a good idea renaming it. - There is "glossary of semisimple groups", which can be merged into this page after the move. The items in the article also need to be alphabetized. Perhaps it makes sense to do all of these in one shot; I will start Draft:Glossary of Lie groups and Lie algebras for that purpose. -- Taku (talk) 10:32, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
- OK, I see, yes then the merge makes sense I think. Go ahead! Jakob.scholbach (talk) 18:09, 26 October 2019 (UTC)
- Closing comment: TakuyaMurata I wish to close this RM as successful but now that you've created Draft:Glossary of Lie groups and Lie algebras can we just move that to Glossary of Lie groups and Lie algebras and redirect Glossary of Lie algebras and Glossary of semisimple groups there? Let me know when your Draft is complete, then I will close this RM. comrade waddie96 ★ (talk) 09:51, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
- Waddie96, we'll need a history merge as substantive edits have been made by other users to the non-draft version. Alternatively the draft creator could incorporate their edits into the existing article. SITH (talk) 10:54, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
