If you are happy with the following or similar could somebody add it?

According to the constitution of Turkey "citizens have the right to form political parties" but, although the party's documents were submitted in 2020, over a year later they have not yet been processed by the Ministry of the Interior although many other parties which were formed in 2020 and 2021 have had their documents processed:[1] [2] no reason has been given, therefore the party has started a lawsuit.[3]

I did not add it myself as I have a conflict of interest. But if you could add it I will remove it when the party is listed (click tıklayınız on cite 1 to see the latest pdf list of parties and look at the end of the document) Chidgk1 (talk) 14:53, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Done with modifications. I remember looking at this a while back and it was questionable, but the new source you added is very helpful. I added some specifics and did not include the quote from the constitution of Turkey because it would sound argumentative and also isn't supported by secondary sources. Let me know if you need any further changes. Cheers, Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 17:32, 16 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Clayoquot Thanks. So you think the arguments should only be documented here once the court case starts, because at the moment we don't know what arguments (if any) the ministry will put forward? In that way the article would have a NPOV by giving the arguments of both sides? Alternatively as it seems quite short in the constitution could we list the possible arguments they could use namely "Freedom of association may be restricted only by law on the grounds of national security, public order, prevention of commission of crime, public morals, public health and protecting the freedoms of other individuals." The article can describe any arguments that have been published in third-party secondary sources such as news articles. There is no need to wait for the court case to begin. Feel free to propose something that I can plug into a sentence starting with "The Greens said that... ". If the government said something too, please propose that as well. Clayoquot Ah I see. So to replace the current paragraph would the following be OK:

In 2020 the Green Party submitted documents to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to be registered, as this is a legal requirement for some political activities, such as standing in elections. In 2021 the Greens filed a lawsuit against the ministry to state why the documents had not been processed, although many other parties which were formed later had been registered.[4] Emine Özkan said: "We know that we’ve established our party because the Ministry of Internal Affairs doesn’t have the legal authority to deny permission." and that lots of people wish to join the Greens and for the party to take part in upcoming elections.[5]

The first two sentences look fine to me. The rest looks like the kind fo self-congratulatory comment that 95% of politicians have made at some point or other, and don't think it's informative or suitable for Wikipedia. Can you suggest a more substantial statement? Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 22:35, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Greens' PartyGreens Party – Apostrophe is incorrect translation of the Turkish name - see for example https://yesiller.org.tr/open-letter-from-greens-party-co-spokespersons-to-greens-and-embassies-in-europe-on-the-visa-issue/ As far as I know there is no other party called Greens on English Wikipedia as the Mozambique one is a redirect Chidgk1 (talk) 07:00, 21 September 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). I think the title should specify that this page refers to the Green party of Turkey. The apostrophe is indeed incorrect, thus I'll support "Greens Party (Turkey)" or "Green Party (Turkey)"

Either is fine by me Chidgk1 (talk) 13:33, 28 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

OK so apparently this could be controversial - what does everyone think? If "Greens Party" is rejected then my second choice would be "Greens Party (Turkey)" which I presume is uncontroversial. Chidgk1 (talk) 13:33, 21 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
