Less than mediocre quality

edit

Sections such as "Middle-class Haitians who choose to stay in Brooklyn own brownstone homes in the Park Slope area and single family homes in the Midwood section." border on the ridiculous. Middle class Haitians also live in apartments for example. Such blanket statements should be deleted and preferably the whole page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.246.2.253 (talk) 17:54, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why is there a diaspora?

Surely this is one of the most interesting things that this article could address? (But doesn't.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.133.54.175 (talk) 15:51, 28 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Neighborhoods in Queens

edit

I think the article confuses Jamaica and Rosedale. Jamaica is the more working-class neighborhood, and Rosedale is basically as middle class as Springfield Gardens and the other neighborhoods mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Checkmatechamp137 (talkcontribs) 06:15, 26 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Montreal

edit

Haitian settlement in Montreal increased about 40% between the late 1960s and the early 1970s, rising from 55.1% in 1968 to 92.9% in 1973.[25]

What do these percentages mean? 55.1%/92.9% of what? All Haitians who went to Canada? 2602:306:CFEA:170:4869:8E13:617B:AA9C (talk) 05:48, 25 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've cleaned up the Montreal section. There was many erroneous statistics and fabricated numbers, none of which were referenced. Statistics Canada cklaims there are 165k people of Haitian decent in all of Canada, yet the article stated that there are over 170k in Montreal. Also many unverifiable facts about professional versus labourer immigrants from Haiti which wasn't referenced. 50.101.54.69 (talk) 22:55, 7 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
