Use of the title Brigade Manager

Wikipedia generically uses the term or title "Brigade Manager" to describe officers of the fire service whom have obtaied the rank of Cheif Fire Officer or County Fire Officer in the UK Fire Service.

The term or title "Brigade Manager" has not been widely accepted and does not reflect true accuracy. The term Chief Fire Officer or Firemaster (in Scotland) should instead be used for clarity and to reflect accuracy

Station list

I agree, its been set out very poorly. A bullet-pointed list would be best, and do we really need the vehicle allocation for each? It is my understanding that these allocations can change quite often and it might be difficult to keep up to date. TBM10 (talk) 18:46, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Undue weight given to non-encylopaedic content

I have removed a long list of fire stations, their duty systems, their appliances and even callsigns. Just because Wikipedia is an electronic encyclopaedia with unlimited capacity for articles, it doesn't mean that everything should be written about - even if it can be referenced) - see WP:NOTEVERYTHING. Data like an exhaustive list of appliances, for example, quickly becomes out of date and then becomes a honey pot for original research (WP:OR) as people start adding content based on personal knowledge. The article is better without the table and huge glossary, which one commentator said was "like an information sheet that must be memorised ahead of a workplace test". 10mmsocket (talk) 15:44, 3 July 2021 (UTC)

Wrong Move

The article title has been changed to the current version to eliminate one ampersnad. However the Brigades log uses two ampersands, should the article title not reflect this? Murgatroyd49 (talk) 17:57, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service also used two ampersands in its official publications. But then just to confuse things County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service officially uses two ands, while Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service uses one of each. The latter two articles are named to match the actual name of the service. It would make sense for the Hampshire/IoW and Devon/Somerset to also match their actual names. --10mmsocket (talk) 18:22, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Oh and then there's Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service - the article uses two ands, but the services itself uses two ands and an ampersand. So that would need renaming to match Dorset/Wiltshire. 10mmsocket (talk) 18:25, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
