Haugesund Airport, Karmøy → Haugesund Airport – Official name and the convensional name. ᴛʜᴇMᴀɴLK (Talk) 10:24, 10 May 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. ASUKITE 14:57, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Weak support. I take issue with the "official name" claim. The airport's official website refers to the airport (in Norwegian, in the gray box near the bottom) as "Haugesund Airport Karmøy". With that said, I believe a rename may be in order based on WP:COMMONNAME. The "Karmøy" suffix is not necessary for disambiguation purposes, nor is it in particularily common use locally. Indeed "Helganes", as seen in this article (also Norwegian) is a more common descriptor for the airport's location. So for simplicity, "Haugesund Airport" is a fine, simple and unambiguous article title. Sjakkalle (Check!) 17:13, 18 May 2022 (UTC)- Switching to oppose. Having Googled "Haugesund lufthavn" and observed most of the top results I have concluded that "Haugesund lufthavn, Karmøy" is indeed the most common name, including the official website www.flyhau.com, visitor sites [1], [2], weather sites [3], [4], and the consolidated airline booking search site on finn.no. - Excuse me, but very often norwegian airports open refers to as "Big_city airport, small_city". Is this a real pattern for naming ? Bouzinac (talk) 12:25, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- The «X Airport, Y» convention is typical in Norway and was usually official (in the sense that Avinor used these names) until a few years ago and still in common use. X refers to the main city served by the airport, and Y represents the specific location. At these locations, the airport is by often by far the dominant point of interest, and Y has become almost synonymous with the airport. Hence, «Gardermoen» and «Flesland» are almost always associated with the airports in Oslo and Bergen respectively. Sjakkalle (Check!) 19:13, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

- Oppose per my response in this discussion. Ved havet 🌊 (talk) 11:25, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- Move - Unless there is more than one location going by these names, the local place name is redundant and makes it harder, not easier to find the page. If there are more than one, then the bare name should be the current or most recent location. Always, simplest is best with page names. 130.226.161.50 (talk) 11:58, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- Move It's easier to use a simpler name. 2001:BB8:2001:2:0:0:0:75 (talk) 16:23, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
