I have a question....is it Hazem or Kazem Ali? I've seen sites that have it listed one way and others the other. OutRider2003 00:34, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

What's the source on his birthplace? His cuban accent sounds very faked to me NightShade 02:13, 1 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

armando alejandro estrada was proly born around 1963.user:dark-hooded smoker

Born 12-30-1983?!

edit

That'd make him 22 years old as of 2006! He's WAY older than that! 200.106.8.209 18:44, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

It says December 20, 1978 (age 28), not 12-30-1983.76.110.82.251 22:57, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

"trying hard not to laugh"

edit

I don't know, when I watched that, it seemed to me like he just trying to act like he was getting annoyed. I'm removing it, because it is opinion.

When are you removing it????—Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.110.82.251 (talkcontribs)

Hazem Ali

edit

The real name of Armando is HAZEM ALI. He is 100% palestinian with NO cuban links. WWE is acting and that accent is completely fake.

"Jew"

edit

In case any of you haven't picked up; he pronounces "you" as "jew" instead; everytime in a sentence. Possibly because of his Palestinian background methinks?

Drive-by comment, for what it's worth: I've noticed the tendency in Spanish accented English (particularly Latin American or Puerto Rican accents) for words like you & Yale to be pronounced like Jew & jail. Nothing definitive, but it does seem to fit with the accent he's using. --Ssbohio 03:01, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Who cares if he says "you" as "Jew". Its just his accent. There was no point in talking about this.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.110.82.251 (talkcontribs)

Real Name?

edit

His real name is listed as one thing in the page title, and a completely different one in the actual text. what gives? Koberulz 13:37, 21 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Um...his ring name? VelvetKevorkian 20:11, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Question

edit

From the article: When Paul Heyman began booking OVW he expanded his name to Osama Rodriguez Alejandro, revealing himself to actually be 100% Cuban.

I thought that he revealed he was half Cuban and half Palestinian. --James Duggan 06:19, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, he is fully Palestinian and not Cuban whatsoever. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.68.176.194 (talkcontribs)

No more Alejandro

edit

WWE.com has removed all references to his middle name, Alejandro. This should be reflected in the article. He is now simply Armando Estrada. 207.74.225.164 21:05, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

A while ago actually, still how often do you address people by their full name? Unless an on screen reason is given it's not worth noting.«»bd(talk stalk) 21:19, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

WWE.com thought it was worth changing on their site, so it's worth changing here.

No, is isn't.«»bd(talk stalk) 17:50, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it is.

Just because it's shortened doesn't make it a new ring name. It's not worth mentioning.«»bd(talk stalk) 18:21, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is, though. If it was likely to change back then it wouldn't be worth mentioning. But since his name is OFFICIALLY Armando Estrada, it should be changed. If they changed Shawn Michaels' name to Shaun Michaels, no one would argue that it needs to be edited.

Not the same thing, that would be an actual name change.«»bd(talk stalk) 19:16, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

How is that a name change but this isn't? Fine, Shawn Michaels into just Michaels. That's the same. Either way, Armando Estrada isn't the same as Armando Alejandro Estrada. If this is some kind of Wikipedia rule, it's stupid and makes little sense.

You don't see how changing the spelling versus changing the name would be different? Just like when they start randomly calling Divas by just their first name it's not a name change, it's just not using the full established name.«»bd(talk stalk) 22:19, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

But WWE.com made a conscious decision to change Armando Alejandro Estrada to Armando Estrada on the roster page, so it's slightly different. Not important, but listing him as Armando Alejandro Estrada is incorrect.

This article is not about WWE or how they write it on their website. He's still got that name. Unless they address, on screen, a name change and give it a reason it's fine.«»bd(talk stalk) 22:25, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

He's been referred to as Armando Estrada, they've just not pointed out that it's a name change. But that doesn't matter; using the Shawn Michaels example, if they started just calling him Michaels, yet didn't acknowledge it as a name change, it'd need to be changed. This is the same.

You don't seem to be getting the difference. It's not a name change worth noting if it;s just taking out a name to make it shorter. Just like every time they start calling random divas by just their first name or when the drop the last name from a wrestler. «»bd(talk stalk) 23:08, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
They called him "Armando Alejandro Estrada" this past week. TJ Spyke 03:14, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

UPDATE: In any event, in his new capacity as ECW General Manager, they are listing his ring name within in-show graphics and in introductions as Armando Estrada (without the Alejandro), so I modified the infobox in the article to reflect this. CanuckGod 07:21, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

And I changed it back. Did you even read any of the discussion before this?«»bd(talk stalk) 11:16, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I read the ENTIRE SECTION. Who was it who made you God of the article, anyhow, or made you arbiter of how much of a name change or where it occurs is enough to change one single iota of your precious article? But fine, you win, I won't touch it again. Happy? CanuckGod 16:39, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry to re-open this arguement, but the Alejandro should be taken off. CanuckGod did the right thing changing the name. Besides, if WWE only refers to him as Armando Estrada, then the Alejandro is not part of the ring name. Even the "Superstar Yearbook" marks him as Armando Estrada, without the Alejandro. So, if WWE revoved all references of Alejandro from Armando Estrada's name, then his name should be changed! THE $R$ 23:35, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Battle of the Billionaires

edit

The Battle of the Billionaires is not mentioned in this article. And it is of great importance, because it was on almost every news show in the country, and it was also Umaga's first Wrestlemania and his first loss to someone other that John Cena. 8:37pm - April 8, 2007

He was peripheral, at best, to the whole thing.«»bd(talk stalk) 01:48, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

ECW GM

edit

It should be noted 82.4.71.30 15:59, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

And...it is. Did you read the article?«»bd(talk stalk) 16:59, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

When I read the article it hadn't been noted, so no need to be sarcastic. 82.4.71.30 23:34, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Should it not be noted as a achievement as general manager adam Adster95 (talk) 12:56, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean?«»bd(talk stalk) 15:10, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

the way you have it for teddy long under his Championships and accomplishments should you not have it saying ecw gm under estrada's Adster95 (talk) 15:01, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm assuming you're referring to this, with regards to Long's page:
  • First person to ever serve as a General Manager for both RAW and SmackDown!. (Long was named GM for one night by then-GM Eric Bischoff in January 2004.)
  • Longest reigning General Manager of SmackDown!.
Ali has not been GM of ECW + another brand, so that knocks off the first point, and I highly doubt that he is the longest reigning GM on ECW. If he is, find a reliable source that says so. Otherwise, him being the ECW GM does not go under "Championships/Accomplishments". Thanks, ♥NiciVampireHeart15:05, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

OVW Era

edit

This may be a bit late but I'm trying to find out what he meant when in OVW he would come out with a sign that said "Bote for Lalo". I get the "bote" part (vote) but Lalo? How does this fit with his name? Any help here? LK Thurisaz 20:21, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

My ability to watch OVW was spotty at best, but somehow he got the nickname "Lalo" and/or "Big Lalo". I'm sure it had something to do with them wanting to say "Osama" as little as possible on television when he was no longer a heel, but how it was explained I either never actually saw or don't remember.«»bd(talk stalk) 00:09, 6 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed name change.

edit

I prepose a name change of this article from Hazem Ali to Armando Estrada, as he is clearly more known by the Estrada name.Crash Underride 05:07, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Birthday

edit

Today is Armando Estrada's birthday as it says on his Facebook. Can we verify that the December date or October 6 is his birthday? Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 06:21, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
