Henry Brewster Stanton & Women's Rights
editPlease provide source information for HBS & his support of women's rights. To my knowledge, one of his wife's greater disappointments was that they disagreed over female suffrage and other rights for women, as did ECS and her father, Daniel Cady. HBS declined to participate in the 1st Womens Rights Convention in Seneca Falls, NY, much to ECS's disappointment. (I believe Lucretia Mott's husband chaired the convention, and ECS had hoped for similar support from her husband, which apparently was not forthcoming.) With all this in mind, I greatly question the assertion that Henry Brewster Stanton was a supporter of women's rights in any but superficial measures. Jancarhart 23:59, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
