Formal request has been received to merge: Hermitian variety into Unital (geometry); dated: February 2023. Proposer's Rationale: If I was more confident in my knowledge of this field and Wikipedia-editing skills, I would just do this myself. Edrudathec. Discuss here. - oppose: I am not an expert, but it seems that Unital (geometry) is mainly about finite geometries (block designs, etc), whereas Hermitian variety can be constructed over any field and is a topic with more connections to algebraic geometry. It is true that in some cases some constructions are examples of both, but each topic is much more than that. In particular, the Hermitian variety topic is currently an (algebraic geometry) stub and could be expanded quite a bit. Neither topic can be reduced to the other and it seems they are best kept separate. PatrickR2 (talk) 05:50, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
