Ecto Cooler name change

This article give two different acounts for the fate of ecto cooler. One states it was renamed "Shoutin' Orange Tangergreen" in 1997, then was renamed "Crazy Citrus Cooler" in 2005. The other account says it was still called "Ecto Cooler" until 2001, then renamed "Shoutin' Orange Tangergreen", and then renamed "Crazy Citrus Cooler" in 2006. As such the article contradicts itself. It is agreed upon the Slimer left the box in 1997, the question is at what time was it renamed? Was the product renamed in 1997 when Slimer left the box, or did it retain the name "Ecto Cooler", sans-Slimer until 2001? Also when exactly was it renamed "Crazy Citrus Cooler", 2005 or 2006? Wasn't Ecto Cooler a tie-in with the cartoon

I thought that Ecto Cooler came a little later than 1984, as a tie in with the Saturday morning cartoon The Real Ghostbusters or possibly the spin-off from 1988 Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters.

It was, apparently, introduced in 1989 as a tie in to the cartoon and to Ghostbusters II, which was released that year. Yes, that's later than most remember, but it's the reality. oknazevad (talk) 04:39, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

"Blob of lips?"

From the last paragraph:

Slimer was replaced by a similar-looking blob of lips.

Ah yes, I wrote that. I meant that when slimer was removed from the can, a set of human lips replaced him as the logo on the can/box/jug. the lips do sort of resemble slimer, they are blob-shaped, as i said, green, and just generally of a similar nature. a cruddy picture of what i mean CastAStone|^(talk) 19:56, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Is this wise to disambig this article with "juice"?

In Asia Hi-C is also a tea beand, and in Hong Kong the range even extended to soy milk-- in fact, a direct competitor of Vitasoy. I think this article should be disambiguated with "drink."

Ecto cooler rereleased in 2007?

I have looked all over google and haven't seen anything other than this wikipedia entry to suggest a rerelease. 69.251.115.119 also removed some external links that seemed justified.

Also, Minutemaid and Hi-C are both owned by Coca-Cola. So should the Coca-Cola Brands category be restored?

10% Juice?

I think it should be noted that in the picture of the Japanese HI-C can, it says 30% at the bottom. Although I'm not entirely sure what the kanji before it was, I assume it is the percent of actual fruit juice in the can. Product lines have changed

The gallon jugs of Hi-C blast have been discontinued. I called the customer service number and they confirmed this and said they have not yet been able to get the website updated... They now have 6 packs of 12 oz bottles though, which are mentioned on the minutemaid website. I'm not going to put in the effort to change the article right now when my best source is just a phone call, but I think the article will need to be updated soon enough.... 216.68.56.218 14:06, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Ecto Cooler 1989 Introduction

Looks like the person who said 1984 was too early for Ecto Cooler is right. Did a search on Google News archives and found 2 sources from 1989 which said the product was going to be hitting the shelves sometime that year. Must have came out with Ghostbusters II and not the original. Check out the link to browse through the news. Seems you have to pay to get the whole article, but in the preview there are 2 articles that mention Ecto Cooler coming out around June 1989:

Vitamin C content

A lot of readers who come to this article probably do so to find out the Vitamin C content, which by the name and orange coloring suggests it has plenty of it. The article currently lacks this, but does have info on a lot of flavors--makes it appear as if written by Hi C sales department, whether that's true or not.Rich (talk) 09:55, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Ecto Cooler / Citrus Cooler

Before Ecto Cooler, I'm certain there was (and had been for years) a flavor called simply Citrus Cooler, which, as far as I recall, was the same color and flavor; I thought Ecto Cooler was just a promotional name change, but the article suggests the product didn't actually exist before.
